6 Tips to Stay Warm This Winter
The snow outside may look quite nice â„ï¸, but the season comes with a chilly price 😉
So, like Prometheus bringing fire to mankind, we're here to bring you some great tips to keep you and your home toasty on days like this! We asked some savvy locals what they do to heat both themselves & their homes, and here's what they said.
🔥Fireplace: Today, the weather outside is frightfully cold, but a fire would be so delightful! Nothing quite says winter like the warmth and crackling sounds of the fireplace. A nice fire is more than just relaxing to look at and pleasant smelling, but it's also an inexpensive way to heat the room and home!
🔌Electric Blanket: Normal blankets alone are great. Add in controllable heat and you're on a whole other level of comfort! Whether sitting on the couch watching your favorite show or watching the snowfall, an electric blanket makes it cozy wherever you are!
🕯ï¸Candles: Light a bunch of candles like its Christmas Eve all over again! You'll not only feel super festive but you'll also bring up the room temperature a little over time!
ðŸªBake Cookies: Bake cookies, brownies, a hearty warm meal or whatever you like... (uh, and you could invite us over for a taste too 😉). When you're done let the heat out into your home fully, and eat that warm delicious cookie or roast.
🧦Warm Fuzzy Socks: The term to "have cold feet" means you're too fearful to do something. This morning I "had cold feet" about doing anything other than hibernating through the Antarctic-like weather. Right now, the only thing preventing my lower extremities from turning into ice sculptures is socks... warm fuzzy socks. Like a small furry mammal giving your foot an enveloping hug, a good pair of socks is key for surviving extreme cold like we have today.
ðŸ‹ï¸Do a Home Workout: Sometimes when you're cold, moving is the best thing you can do to heat up! Whether you have a bodyweight exercise routine of your own, or use home workout videos, getting moving increases your body temperature and increases your energy/heat expenditure for the day! You can also take a long hot shower after which will also heat your home a bit. 🚿
